In light of the current situation in relation to Coronavirus, We have decided to take the unprecedented step to cancel the forthcoming pre Mothers Day Caribbean Tea Party scheduled for *Friday 13th March*. This decision was not taken lightly and has been given very careful consideration. We have a moral and legal obligation to ensure the safety and well being of our Ageless Teenagers (ATs), not only our ATs but all the volunteers and AT support, a large number of whom fall within the group categorised by the govt as vulnerable.
The CMO has stated that by virtue of their age, they are more likely to have significant underlying health problems and are therefore more susceptible to serious outcomes, were they to be exposed to and become infected with the virus.
Admittedly there has not been a directive from the goverment regarding restrictions on social gatherings of what they describe as the vulnerable group but as cofounders of Ageless Teenagers organisation we take our responsibity of duty of care very seriously and have decided to pre- empt this. The welfare and health of our guests, volunteers and support team is *paramount*. Given the progression in the identified hot spots in Europe, the steady increase in infections and the latest fatality in the UK, we feel that this is an inevitable precautionary measure to take. We will temporarily suspend these events until further notice. We apologise unreservedly for any inconvenience and disappointment this will cause but please understand this is done with the best of intentions. We have deliberated over this and feel that this is the correct and only course of action to take. Our aim is to protect our guests, volunteers and support team We do not want to put any of you at risk. To proceed with the teaparty we feel would be a breach of our responsibility. Know that we remain committed to providing an approriate standard of care, anything else can only be considered as negligent.
We will update review, take advice and precautions to ensure that we do the best we can...
